Dermatologic Cosmetic Laboratories Introduces
The First System that Controls all Aspects of a Glycolic Peel.
Easy-to-Use Epi-Peel® System features Advanced Formulation and
Controlled Dosing for Better, More Predictable Results.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
EAST HAVEN,CT – January 12, 2006 Dermatologic Cosmetic Laboratories introduces the Epi-Peel® System, a new glycolic peel system specifically designed to offer physicians a more effective, efficient and predictable way to administer professional in-office glycolic peels.
The Epi-Peel® System is available in two innovative formulations: Level 1 (40% active) and Level II (70% active). The Level I (40% active) formulation introduces a clinically active level of willowherb extract, which DCL scientists have identified and incorporated into the formula to help soothe and calm the skin while the beneficial effects of the peel are taking effect. The formula is also a gel-like consistency designed for easier spreadability and even application. The Level II (70% active) formulation includes the most effective topical anti-oxidant, Vitamin C, in a highly stable water soluble form- magnesium ascorbyl phosphate. The addition of this ingredient helps even skin tone and maximize efficacy of the glycolic peel.
Each system comes in a convenient 50 application kit, which includes the glycolic peel solution, a dose controlling measuring cup, special cotton applicators with a specific weight and density and simple 3-step instructions that makes administering the peels easier than ever. Dose, concentration and timing are controlled to provide reproducible and consistent results.
The 3-step systems each come with clear, easy to follow directions to “prep, peel and neutralize” measured amounts of glycolic solution with detailed treatment durations and recommended intervals to make the results more precise and the process easier than ever before.
“The key to an effective glycolic peel is CONTROL. Recent studies have demonstrated the relationship between the control of pH, pka (3.82), percent free acid and efficacy and irritation. DCL has used these documented studies to formulate the Epi-Peel® System, the first Glycolic System to control all aspects of a chemical peel this scientifically from formulation through application. The addition of willowherb extract further enhances an ideal formulation,” stated Neal Schultz, MD, DCL’s Sr. Vice President and Clinical Medical Director.
“For years, doctors have had to do an unfortunate amount of guesswork when working with glycolic peels,” said Truitt Bell, President and CEO of Dermatologic Cosmetic Laboratories. “We took a comprehensive look at glycolic peels from every angle- formulation, dosage, timing, ease-of-use – to create a new, more thought-out generation of glycolic products for our clients.”
