This cleanser contains salicylic acid and lactic acid, which are commonly used exfoliants. In rinse-off cleansers like this one, they are generally considered low risk in pregnancy. ✅ Generally considered safe ingredients: The base surfactants (cocamidopropyl betaine, sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, glycerin, chamomile, panthenol, ginseng, ginkgo) are not pregnancy concerns.

⚠️ Salicylic Acid: Present in the formula. The FDA and dermatologists generally caution against high concentrations or oral use of salicylic acid during pregnancy, but topical face cleansers with low-level salicylic acid are often considered safe because they are rinsed off and have minimal absorption.

⚠️ Lactic Acid: Also an exfoliant (AHA). Considered lower risk than salicylic, but still falls in the “use with care” category during pregnancy.

❌ Fragrance compounds (limonene, linalool, citronellol, geraniol): Not dangerous, but fragrances can increase irritation, and pregnant skin can be more reactive.

This cleanser is formulated for oily and acne-prone skin. With salicylic acid and lactic acid to help clear pores, it’s considered very low risk for clogging. It does contain fragrance compounds, which may trigger irritation in sensitive skin, but these do not contribute to comedogenicity.

✅ Cleansing surfactants (sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, cocamidopropyl betaine, sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate) are foaming agents that wash away oil and debris — they don’t linger on the skin long enough to clog pores.

✅ Exfoliating acids (salicylic acid, lactic acid) actively help prevent clogged pores by dissolving oil plugs and dead skin cells.

✅ Soothing agents (ginkgo, ginseng, chamomile, panthenol) support skin barrier health, which indirectly helps reduce breakouts.
